Commitment to Diversity
My town and my school are not very diverse. So I have to get creative by trying to meet this requirement. While we may not have a diverse population we do have a need for people will disabilities. My mom has taught Special Education ever since I was born. I have grown up with a better understanding of people with disabilities. So to show my commitment to diversity here's an article about a Taekwondo World Champion with autism within the Kearney community.
Commitment to Diversity continued
I am also focused on a commitment to diversity because I have been learning the German language since my 8th grade year. My goal by the end of my senior year is to have the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy. My favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs went to Frankfurt this past season and played the Miami Dolphins. These situations line up with one of my career goals being able to broadcast overseas. America is now getting their sports across the pond especially with the NFL's push on American Footbal to Europe. What better time now for a sports journalist to learn German! Deutsch ist spass! (Translation: German is fun)
